Filmless autogated light intensifier tube the Defender has an extremely sharp resolution and brightness. This compact marvel is not a stripped down NVD it is full of features such as a new super fast front lens system for optimal brightness, easy push button operation, and a reticle brightness adjustment. Plus, it comes with our new detachable, most powerful in the industry 450mw Infrared Illuminator with dedicated windage and elevation adjustments for total darkness usage. Compact, rugged and highly accurate makes the 8800c Defender the perfect scope for the person on the move. Precision manufactured from the finest materials with the end result in a superb night vision weapon sight that provides an image close to a daylight scope while viewing at night. According to our customers this model performs comparable to 4x Raptor scope, PVS-14, Elcan Blackcat Aquila, AN/PVS-17 or other far more expensive weapon mounted solutions. ATN Aries 8800 Defender is recommended for police and military uses Gen 3 image intensifier and it is easy to operate, incorporates a titanium high-strength weaver style mounting base, Red on Green rangefinder reticle and 1/8 MOA internal adjustments.

ATNs Autogated / Filmless IITs improve night operational effectiveness in dynamic lighting conditions such as those experienced, for example, in night operations in urban areas. The filmless micro channel plate provides a higher signal-to-noise ratio than standard Gen 3, resulting in better image quality under low-light conditions. An Autogated power supply further improves image resolution under high light conditions and a reduced halo effect that minimizes interference from bright light sources. Units with 4th gen autogated/filmless IITs have a typical resolution of 64-72lp/mm and a minimum signal to noise ratio of 24.
